Name: Sam Hutton
Origin: South East England
Influences: John Mayer/Jason Mraz/The Script/Gavin Degraw
Born on the 3rd August 1990, Sam Hutton is a singer-songwriter from South London. A passionate individual, he has the skills, aspirations and desire to become a recognised musician. Having established himself as an artist in the London area, his talents run through singing, guitar (acoustic and electric), saxophone (alto and tenor) and piano/keyboards.
He decided to fine-tune his musical skills by studying for a guitar diploma at the ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) in Guildford. This course proved that music was in Sam's blood, but there is always more to learn. He then gained a place at Southampton University to study for a BA in Music and graduated with a 2:1 honours in 2012. The culmination of his efforts during this time can be heard on his album 'First Degree' . And if you like it spread the word and even download it for free here.
In between his degree, writing, recording and progressing his musical career, Sam also worked on another project. Working with London design consultancy 'to the point' he launched a new brand to promote his solo career, but also to help explore potential musical collaborations and further his interest in marketing. The new business is a catalyst for writing and producing songs with a network of like-minded musicians and producers within the industry.
Sam draws inspirations from a large roster of musicians including John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw and The Script among others. We hope you enjoy his music, from the new album 'First Degree', his EP, '52 weeks', recorded at The Animal Farm, to his earlier experimental recordings of selected covers and unique, acoustic, 'stripped down' versions of his songs.
Sam is currently studying for an MSc in International Marketing at BPP London to expand his horizons, so watch this space...
